JOB GOAL: 

We are seeking a highly effective classroom teacher who is passionate about education and dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional instructional skills, a deep understanding of student needs, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Warren County is a rural school district with a low-performance designation.  The ideal candidate will be able to show evidence of success in growing students for their educational success.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification/license. (National Board Certification preferred).
  • Proven experience as a classroom teacher, preferably in a similar educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
  • Passion for working with diverse student populations and fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
  • Demonstrates deep understanding and mastery of the subject matter by evidence of student performance data (2 or more consecutive years of growth on EVAAS)
  • Provides accurate and comprehensive explanations of concepts and principles.
  • Content Integration- integrates relevant and current content into instruction to enhance student learning.
  • Relates content to real-world applications and student interests.
  • Knowledgeable and efficient with software applications and technology to facilitate student learning and access student growth.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instructional Delivery: Deliver dynamic and interactive lessons that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative learning.
  • Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive and culturally responsive classroom environment conducive to learning, respect, and mutual support.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Assess student progress using a variety of assessment strategies and provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth. Adjusts instruction based on ongoing assessment data to ensure all students make progress.
  • Differentiation: Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, abilities, and backgrounds, ensuring that all students have access to meaningful learning experiences. Provides targeted support and interventions for students with varying needs.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders to support student learning and well-being and contribute to a positive school culture.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices, stay current with research and best practices, and contribute to the school community.
  • Actively seeks feedback, collaborates with colleagues and engages in reflective practices to improve teaching effectiveness.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset and willingness to adapt and learn from experience.
  • Perform other tasks and assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to communicate orally and in writing with staff, parents and community.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate orally and in writing with parents, staff, leaders.
  • Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, kneeling, sitting, walking, stooping, reaching, lifting, pushing, talking, seeing, hearing, and repetitive motion.

 

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a valid NC driver's license.
